Trailer fire on 8th Street East in Saskatoon

Damage is estimated at $20,000 following a trailer fire behind a commercial business on the 2300 block of 8th Street East during the noon hour Thursday.

Around 12:20 p.m., the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to a 911 call and found a utility trailer carrying a water tank and pressure washer fully involved in flames. Crews extinguished the fire.

One person was injured with burns to the upper body and was taken to hospital for treatment. A Fire Investigator determined the equipment had not cooled sufficiently prior to re-fueling and that the cause of the fire was accidental.
